Bones Coffee Company Ethiopia Single-Origin is a 12 oz bag of low-acid, medium-roast Arabica whole beans that highlight citrus, floral and berry tasting notes for a bright yet smooth cup.
Harvested from the Huila region of Ethiopia and roasted in small batches in the USA, this single-origin offering aims to capture the distinctive regional complexity of Ethiopian coffee while keeping acidity gentle. Beans are packaged in a resealable bag to preserve aroma and freshness, and the whole-bean format lets you control grind size for brewing methods from espresso to French press.
What flavor profile should I expect from these Ethiopian beans?
Expect a lively but balanced cup where citrusy brightness sits alongside delicate floral tones and ripe berry sweetness. The medium roast brings out aromatic complexity without overshadowing origin character.
- Top notes: lemon or orange zest that lifts the cup
- Mid-palate: subtle floral fragrance reminiscent of jasmine or bergamot
- Finish: red-berry sweetness and a clean aftertaste
How does the low-acid claim affect drinkability and stomach comfort?
Low-acid roasting reduces sharpness and makes the coffee easier on sensitive stomachs while preserving flavor clarity. It’s still coffee—flavor depth remains—just with a smoother, gentler mouthfeel.
- Medium roast profile to mellow acidity
- Whole beans to allow custom grind and extraction control
- Resealable bag to keep oils and aroma intact
Which brewing methods work best with these whole beans?
Because you get whole beans, you can tailor the grind to the brew: finer for espresso, medium for drip, coarse for French press. Each method highlights different aspects of the beans—espresso emphasizes body, pour-over clarifies acidity, and French press deepens sweetness.
- Espresso: fine grind to concentrate citrus and berry notes
- Pour-over/auto-drip: medium grind for a clean, aromatic cup
- French press/cold brew: coarse grind to emphasize smoothness
How is this coffee sourced and packaged to keep it fresh?
These beans come from Huila, Ethiopia, sourced for single-origin consistency and then artisan roasted in small batches. Packaging includes a resealable valve bag to lock in freshness and release gases after roast.
- Single-origin beans from Huila region
- Small-batch artisan roast for consistent flavor
- Resealable bag with one-way valve to preserve aroma
Who is this for: This coffee suits home brewers and specialty-coffee fans who want an origin-driven cup with lively citrus and floral aromas but moderate acidity. It’s a good pick for people who prefer whole beans to control grind and extraction, and for those following vegan or keto lifestyles since there are no added sugars or dairy.
