The Berton Metal Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium red wine from South Eastern Australia. Established in 1996 by Bob and Cherie Berton in High Eden, Berton Vineyards has grown from a 'bonsai vineyard' into a contemporary operation known for its approachable and high-quality wines. Their winemaking philosophy centers on producing affordable, easy drinking wines by pairing modern technology with traditional techniques.
Wine Description
This Cabernet Sauvignon presents a deep crimson appearance with impenetrable violet hues. The aromatic profile is opulent, featuring an intense bouquet of cassis, blood plum, and red berries, accented by notes of dried oregano, cedar, and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and seductive, offering folds of blackberry compote, blackcurrant jam, anise, and mint. The structure is defined by fine-grained tannins and well-integrated oak, leading to a long, flavoursome finish that showcases both complexity and depth.
Food Pairing
This robust Cabernet Sauvignon is best paired with rich, savoury dishes such as slow-cooked beef ragu pasta, grilled lamb cutlets with rosemary and asparagus, or a classic juicy steak. For a vegetarian alternative, a hearty eggplant parmesan or wild mushroom risotto provides a wonderful textural contrast to the wine's tannins.
