Berry Bros. & Rudd Glen Moray 2008 is a limited 16 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled exclusively for Willow Park Wines & Spirits. Distilled at Glen Moray in 2008, this single-cask expression was drawn from Cask #5713 and bottled at 52% ABV.
Glen Moray's naturally soft and fruity spirit takes on a distinctly savoury and spicy character in this release. Honey-glazed smoky ham and clove lead into tart red berries and juicy cherries, followed by cracked black pepper, toasted fennel seed and warming mulled spices. Subtle bread-like malt and liquorice root emerge toward the finish, creating a dry and lingering conclusion.
Food Pairing: Pair with honey-glazed ham, roast pork, aged cheddar, charcuterie, toasted nuts or spiced fruit desserts.
Tasting Notes: Savoury and fruit-driven with honey, clove, red berries and cherries complemented by cracked pepper, fennel and warming spice.
Nose: Smoky cooked ham glazed with honey and clove, balanced by tart red berries and juicy cherries.
Palate: Rich and spicy with cracked black pepper, toasted fennel seed and mulled spices over soft fruit and malt.
Finish: Dry and lingering with subtle breadiness, liquorice root and persistent warming spice.
