America's First Wheat Whiskey Since Prohibition
Bernheim Original is a groundbreaking spirit from Heaven Hill Distillery, representing the first new style of American whiskey introduced since Prohibition. Named for the famed Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, this 7-year-old wheat whiskey offers a distinctly mellow, smooth character that sets it apart from traditional bourbon and rye. Aged in traditional open rickhouses, Bernheim delivers a refreshingly approachable taste profile.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Soft wheat grain with hints of honey, vanilla, and light floral notes
- Palate: Smooth and mellow with flavors of butterscotch, caramel, gentle spice, and toasted grain
- Finish: Clean, gentle finish with lingering sweetness and subtle oak
Perfect For
Bernheim's exceptionally smooth character makes it ideal for sipping straight or on the rocks. Its mellow profile also shines in cocktails, offering a softer alternative to bourbon or rye while maintaining depth and complexity.
