A highly exclusive single cask expression distilled in 2014 and bottled at 11 years old specifically for the McMurray Malt Maniacs whisky club. Drawn from a First-Fill Sherry Hogshead and presented at a robust natural cask strength, this release beautifully showcases Benromach's signature lightly peated, old-school Speyside character, amplified by the deep, dark fruit and spice influence of the premium sherry wood.
Food Pairing: An excellent match for rich, savory dishes like smoked brisket or a robust charcuterie board featuring aged gouda and cured meats. For a sweet pairing, it complements dark chocolate truffles or a classic sticky toffee pudding perfectly.
TASTING NOTES-
A deep mahogany appearance with a thick, viscous feel in the glass, offering a robust, oily, and intensely warming texture on the palate.
NOSE - Rich aromas of dark chocolate, dried figs, and sticky dates, interwoven with antique leather, toasted baking spices, and a delicate waft of Benromach's signature earthy peat smoke.
FINISH - Long, warming, and deeply satisfying, with lingering notes of cracked black pepper, roasted espresso beans, dark stewed fruits, and a gentle wood smoke that slowly fades.
SERVE - Best enjoyed neat to experience the intense sherry cask influence, or with a generous splash of water to soften the cask strength ABV and open up softer notes of orange peel, oak, and milk chocolate.
