Introduction:
Beefeater London Dry Gin is a quintessential gin that has been produced in London since 1863. Renowned for its remarkably clean flavor, it features a bold juniper character balanced with strong notes of citrus.
Botanicals:
The gin's distinctive profile is achieved through a blend of nine botanicals:
- Juniper: Provides a bold and vibrantly crisp note.
- Lemon Peel: Adds a sharp and crisp citrus profile.
- Seville Orange Peel: Introduces a bitter citrus flavor.
- Almond: Brings a hint of marzipan and soft spice.
- Angelica Root: Adds woody, spicy notes and balanced flavors.
- Angelica Seed: Fragrant and hop-like with floral notes.
- Coriander Seed: Releases ginger, sage, and lemon flavors.
- Orris Root: Aromatic and floral with a hint of Parma violet.
- Liquorice Root: Woody and bittersweet, spicy yet mellow.
Distillation Process:
Based on founder James Burrough’s original 19th-century recipe, the botanicals in Beefeater London Dry are steeped for 24 hours prior to distillation, resulting in a complex yet perfectly balanced gin of depth and integrity.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Classic London Dry gin aroma with pine-forward juniper and a hint of light citrus zest.
- Palate: Clean flavor with bold juniper character balanced by strong citrus notes.
- Finish: Smooth and lingering, embodying the traditional London Dry gin profile.
