Balvenie crafted this exceptionally rare expression exclusively for the Taiwanese market. Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie sought to capture the vibrant, multi-layered sweetness she'd experienced abroad. The craftsmanship is absolutely breathtaking. She selected prime barrels from the distillery’s deep cellar. Thirteen long years of steady maturation within robust Oloroso sherry casks established a decadent foundation of toasted nuts, rich plum, and cinnamon spice.
The real magic happens during the secondary maturation phase. A delicate finishing period inside rare Moscatel wine casks fundamentally elevates the spirit. This pivotal resting phase introduces vibrant flashes of soft citrus and intricate floral aromas that effortlessly weave throughout Balvenie's signature honeyed core. It's a delightfully radiant dram. It balances intense sherry character with remarkable subtlety.
- Matured initially in rich Oloroso sherry casks
