Arran 13 Year Old 2012 KWM Sherry Cask #1707 is an exclusive single-cask Scotch whisky selected for Kensington Wine Market. Distilled at Arran's Lochranza Distillery in 2012, it matured for 13 years in a single Sherry butt before being bottled at natural cask strength of 57% ABV. Limited to only 651 bottles, this 14th KWM-exclusive Arran cask combines rich Sherry character with the distillery's fruit-forward malt, revealing layers of dark chocolate, dried fruit, tropical fruit, leather and warming spice.
Food Pairing: Pair with roasted duck, aged cheddar, charcuterie, toasted nuts, dark chocolate or dried-fruit desserts.
Tasting Notes: Rich and fruit-forward with dark chocolate, dried fruit and nutty Sherry character, developing candied citrus, tropical fruit, leather and warming baking spices.
Nose: Dark chocolate and buttery pastry lead into dates, figs and cooked raisins, with lemon candy, malt, soft leather, tobacco and wood spice.
Palate: Rich chocolate and nutty Sherry mingle with raisins, dates and figs before opening into candied citrus, apricot and melon, followed by cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise.
Finish: Long, coating and warming with lingering Sherry, fruit and chocolate gradually giving way to leather, tobacco and spice.
