Arnot-Roberts is a joint project of schoolhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts, who founded their winery in 2001. The Fellom Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon comes from an exposed ridgetop at 2200 feet elevation in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Silicon Valley . The site was replanted between 1980-1983 with Cabernet Sauvignon cuttings from the Charles Krug Winery in the Napa Valley, and the old, cane-pruned vines struggle in the harsh environment and low-nutrient soils, generating thick skins and naturally low yields. Cabernet Sauvignon is fermented with partial whole cluster and then aged in barrels coopered by Roberts himself.
