Indulge in the bold yet harmonious character of Ardbeg An Oa, a masterpiece of Islay single malt Scotch whisky. This 750mL bottle offers a richly complex experience, shaped by maturation in a unique gathering vat that blends whisky aged in sweet Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, spicy virgin oak, and rich ex-bourbon barrels. Expect a tantalizing balance of smokiness and sweetness — the iconic Ardbeg peat shines through, interwoven with notes of toffee, dark chocolate, and soft spices. Hints of smoked banana, treacle, and an enticing touch of citrus complete this velvety, full-bodied dram. Perfect for both Ardbeg enthusiasts and those looking to explore Islay’s peated marvels, An Oa is a harmonious, smoky indulgence that finishes smooth and lingering. Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Subtle smoke, creamy toffee, chocolate, and a touch of lemon.
- Palate: Sweet and smoky, with flavors of honey, spice, charred oak, and dark caramel.
- Finish: Long, smoky, and slightly sweet with a hint of salt.
