Tasting notes: Nougat, Grapefruit, Citrus
El Morito sits near the village of Morales in Mataquescuintla, Jalapa. Coffee occupies 98 hectares of the 672-hectare estate, surrounded by natural forest, and grows across elevations from about 1,400 to 2,300 metres.
Jose Roberto Monterroso Pineda’s team grows varieties selected for the local climate, including Pacamara. This washed Red Pacamara was available in both espresso and filter profiles, and April describes nougat, grapefruit, and citrus notes with bright acidity.
