The Appleton Estate Velier Hearts Collection represents Jamaican rum-making at its most profound and authentic. This collaboration between Appleton's master blender Joy Spence and Velier's Luca Gargano brings the essence of Jamaica's Nassau Valley to life. Crafted from copper pot stills using traditional methods, this rum showcases exceptional distillate from the "heart" of the rum run. The tropical aging process intensifies its character far beyond its years. Each bottle tells a story of Jamaica's rich terroir and centuries-old distilling heritage. Each expression in this series is distilled using 100% pot stills, capturing the quintessential Jamaican rum character. The rums are aged entirely in Jamaica, allowing the tropical climate to impart deep, complex flavors over decades. Notably, the 1994 vintage, distilled in that year and aged for 26 years, boasts a congener content of 1,184 g/hLAA, reflecting its rich and robust profile.
The Hearts Collection embraces Appleton's signature funk while elevating it to unprecedented complexity. This high-proof expression delivers remarkable balance despite its formidable strength. The limited nature of this release makes it a treasure for collectors and connoisseurs alike—experience rum in its most expressive and uncompromising form.
