Alma del Jaguar Barricas Ruby Wine Cask Añejo is part of the Barricas series — a collection of cask-finished expressions showcasing the unique flavor profiles created by different barrel types. This expression takes the bold, cooked agave character of Alma del Jaguar Añejo and finishes it in Spanish oak ex-Ruby Port casks from the Douro Valley of northern Portugal, imparting rich notes of ripe red fruit, berries, chocolate, and buttery caramel alongside the traditional agave base.
Port is a fortified dessert wine unique to the Douro Valley, and its influence on the tequila is unmistakable — a marriage of Mexican agave tradition and Portuguese wine heritage that produces a spirit of extraordinary complexity and depth.
