Aberargie Inaugural Single Malt Scotch Whisky marks the first official single malt release from Aberargie Distillery, an independent family-owned distillery established on the Morrison family's 300-acre farm near Perth. Produced entirely from estate-grown barley and distilled, matured and bottled on-site, the inaugural expression combines heritage Golden Promise and Laureate barley with maturation in equal proportions of first-fill bourbon and first-fill sherry casks. Bottled at 48.2% ABV with natural colour and without chill filtration, it delivers a rich yet balanced profile of orchard fruit, golden pastry, dried fruit and gentle herbal complexity.
Food Pairing: Pair with apple tart, buttery shortbread, roasted almonds, mature cheddar, fruitcake or dark chocolate with dried fruit.
Tasting Notes: Rich and layered, combining baked orchard fruit and buttery pastry with dried fruit, toasted malt and gentle spice before developing a lingering herbal character.
Nose: Soft orchard fruits with baked apple, toasted malt, subtle sweetness and gentle warming spice.
Palate: Baked apple and golden pastry lead into succulent sultanas and prunes, supported by rich malt and balanced oak.
Finish: Long and warming with lingering dried fruit, malt sweetness and a distinctive herbal note.
