Distillery 291 in Colorado Springs is one of the most awarded craft distilleries in America — founded by former fashion photographer Michael Myers, who brought an artist's eye and an obsessive attention to detail to the craft of whiskey making. Named for the legendary Alfred Stieglitz gallery at 291 Fifth Avenue in New York, the distillery produces small batch Colorado whiskeys with a bold, distinctive character.
Their Colorado Rye Whiskey is distilled from a high-rye mash bill and finished with aspen stave inserts — a uniquely Colorado touch that imparts a subtle, clean sweetness and a hint of the Rocky Mountain high country. Fast-aged in small barrels and finished with aspen, this is a rye with genuine regional identity.
